Description
A full immersion tour to admire the most interesting historical locations of the region. The town of Mirbat, with fishermen who still sail on the traditional boats of the Indian Ocean. The spectacular lagoon of Khor Rori and the archaeological site of Sumhurram: a port built by the Kingdom of Hadramout to control the spice trade on the Indian Ocean. The Museum of the Land of Frankincense at the archaeological site of Al Baleed, ancient capital of Dhofar. We will drive through a panoramic road to reach the top of the mountain Jabal al Qamar to admire the spectacular vertical cliffs on the Arabian Sea. We will stop at Mughsayl Beach and will take a walk over the submarine cave of Marneef, where waves can blow through vertical erosions creating false geysers up to 20 meters high.
Route
The route starts from the city of Salalah, and covers the full crescent formed by the Dhofari Mountain Range, from the town of Mirbat, by the imposing Jebal Samhan, to the beautiful Jabal al Qamar, the “Mountain of the Moon”.
